Student fee management in tally

For fees, create ledgers for each category (music, art, etc.)

For students, create ledgers like ID-Category (e.g. 0051-Music, 0052-Art). In these ledgers, you may use student name as alias.

This will also help in filtering ledgers in Tally.

You can use free version of Busy Accounting Software for your above needs from

which is better then tally.

We are maintaining in excel but as other accounting transactions are being done in tally, idea is if we can use one platform.

Thanks. I tried this.

Only peoblem is that the alias also need to have similar tag attached like -Music

as Alias are also required to be unique in Tally, so same student is conidered a different entity for each course.

Then use "Name-ID-Category" as ledger name. No need to use alias.

Dear Anurag,
when you make the ledger for Students then you should enable the feature of Cost Centre. And also make the ledger in cost catagery like Abacus,music, dance etc. By using this way you can filter the cost of student's course.
