This deduction under 80C( xviii) (d) under Income tax act 1961 , is only for Construction or purchase of House property . not for purchase of plot

80C Deduction is available for payment of Stamp duty / Registration charges towards Construction or purchase of residential house property within overall ceiling limit of 150000/-
Construction includes purchase of plot. If you have constructed any house property over the purchased plot, then I think you can claim
The 80C Deduction is available where housing loan is taken and instalments are being payable (for construction or purchase of residential house).
If housing loan is for purchase of land alongwith construction cost, you may claim stamp duty and registration charges under 80C.
otherwise just construction cost does not require any payment of stamp charges / Registration charges.
