Whether provisions of Stamp Act is equally applicabe to Debentures a that of Shares.
Please answer with keeping in mind that debentures are issued by -
1) Listed Public Company
2)unlisted Public Company
3) Private limited Company

for debentures, rate of Stamp Duty is equal in any state of India.
While the rate of stamp duty on shares is different in different states.

the levy of stamp duty on every type of company is calcuated on the same basis.

As you said that the stamp duty payable on debentures is the same in every state.......So what is the rate of stamp duty on debentures.??
