Hi Sir/Madam,

Please be informed that, today i have donated some amount to https://missionheal.org towards medical expendeture to a baby girl. But, just now i read about this organization in website that it is fraud. But, i got a mail from them saying they will provide CERTIFICATE OF 80G to get exemption on donated amount in my IT RETURN.

Hence, they are asking my PAN Number, Address & DOB. So, kindly let me know that...May i share my PAN number to them. Since, i read about this organization as a fruad and suspecting that they may misuse my PAN number.

If it is genuine organization, then they might have issued the 80G certificates to previous donaters at earlier times. In such case, if you could track weather this is genuine organization or not? then i will take a call on providing details.

Hence, requesting you to do the needful please URGENT!!!.

most safest place to Donate is PM national relief fund. You will receipt in three days by Speed Post with address PAN no and all. Happy donating

All organisations which receives donations neednt require your PAN.

In order to claim exemption in your IT return, you will have to quote their PAN and certificate number in your return.

In the future, please refrain from donating in websites as most of the website are fake.

Better to donate in Govt authorised schemes only so that you will get the benefit of 80G

Yes their PAN no only. Your PAN no nobody asks. They have to give address and their PAN

Donee requires pan for identitiy of doner, in order to comply with provision of income tax act,otherwise if donation without identity of doner is anonimous donation which attract marginal tax, but asking for birth date or other details by donee seems to be suspicious, hence ask for pan and 80 G certificate of donee first,

Before donating money, it is our responsibility to ensure that the money which we wish to donate is going to be utilized for the noble cause. We as taxpayers must do some homework before donating. There are many evil minded people who are just waiting to trap innocent people thru fraudulent means. The only remedy for taxpayers is to contribute money only to those recognised institutions and create more awareness of genuinity of established organizations or institutions.
