Share you views about May 2010 Exams

i gave my paper in MAY,10 PCC

( i m a average student...not too intelligent not too bad...i got 86% in 12th and 156 in CPT )

now i will tell u the biggest prob i faced in CA exam

I COMPLETED MY COURSE 2 TIMES OF EACH SUBJECT BUT WHAT I DID WRONG IS THAT I COMPLETED A SUBJECT TAKING MINIMUM 2 MONTHS TIME (ALONG WITH OTHER SUB) AND I DID MY REVISION ALSO LIKE THIS...

SO I THOUGHT THAT I HAVE COMPLETED MY COURSE AND WAS CONFIDENT ABOUT EXAMS.... BUT WHEN EXMS CAME...I  UNDERSTOOD THAT ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO COMPLETE A COURSE IN 1 DAY(WHICH I COMPLETED IN 2 MONTHS)... SO I LEFT ALMOST HALF OF THE THINGS AND THESE CA PEOPLE WAIT FOR THIS MOMENT,,,,WHATEVER TOPIC I LEFT,THEY GAVE QUES FROM THERE. IT FEELS SO BAD THAT I HVE STUDIED ALL THING BUT I HVE TO LEAVE BECAUSE I HAVE NO TIME

THE ACCOUNTS PAPER WAS SOO EASY BUT LOOK AT THE CHAPTER...ELECTRICITY,PRE-POST PROFIT..BITH THESE TOPIC I HVE LEFT(DUE TO SHORTAGE OF TIME) AND MY 32 MARKS GONE.... SAME IN TAX... I LEFT CLUBBING,TDS,AND HUF....AND REST I HVE DONE FULL COURSE...WHEN PAPER CAME,I WAS SHOCKED...WHOLE PAPER WAS FROM THESE TOPICS

SO MY SUGGESTION-

1)WHEN U R REVISEING,DO A SINGLE SUBJECT WHOLE DAY AND COMPLETE IT FIRST THEN MOVE TO NEXT. THOGH IT IS BORING BUT U HVE HAVE TO DO THIS IN EXMS ALSO(ESPECIALLY FOR SM)

2) DONT LEAVE ANY TOPIC

3)LAW- DO LOTS OF PRACTICE FOR CASE STUDIES

4)SM- DO PRACTICE OF CASE STUDY

5) FOR ALL PRACTICAL SUBJECT... DO EACH AND EVERY QUES FROM MODULE...THEY ASK EXACT QUES FROM MODULES

LAW- MUNISH BANDARI (I STUDIED FROM MP VIJAYKUMAR BUT ITS TOO USELESS IN CA EXM)

SM- MODULE IS BEST

now i tell u my story 

as compared to sachin i got 90% in 12th and 129 in CPT

i wasted almost 12-13 months after my articleship started ....

after that i joined Ashish Kalra sir's class in OCt 2009 and after that my whole view changed ....

i started studying in feb 2010 wen i got leaves frm my office

i took classes only of two subjects costing-fm & tax rest all i have done my self

and my luck was so good that whatever i left before exam didn;t came in that paper :-)

so m pretty happy :-)

as far as book are concerned..i studied from

Accounts - Parveen Jindal's Book+hand written notes

Audit - Surbhi Bansal

Law - Munish Bhandari

Costing - Ashish Kalra Sir's Classes

Tax - KSP Classes

IT - Dinesh Madan+Module

SM - Nitesh Kumar+Module

Lol  past marks doesn't count..... well, your choice to show it or not...!!!!! no comments!

even that student who got 100% in 12th can fail in PCC

I totally agree with both vijetha and gunmaster g-9,

Take my own example

I was very poor student and then I get a boost, c my scores:

1.       In 10^th I got 53.86%

2.       In 12^th I got 67.17%

3.       Then in CPT got 103 (in Dec’08 my sixth attempt, after my five failures)

4.       Then in March, 09 I gave my TYBcom and got 69.19%

5.       And registered to IPCC and joined classes on 2^nd April and gave IPCC exams in Nov ’09 and studied the full portion and get cleared both groups in just one stroke in six months.

I have only shared this to encourage everybody, that student like me who had given CPT for six times can clear the Inter exams, then why not you? Just ask this question to yourself and give your best and get the best.

And as far as books:

Do from that which suits you but refer module once thoroughly. ( I suggest also see through compilation, suggested and rtp) and don’t leave anything from this vast syllabus. All the Best for November' 2010 students..

I got 91% in 12th & 162 in CPT .

I registered for PCC n my xams were due in mAY 2010....but in the mean time converted to IPCC & gave 1st grp In Nov 2009 n got 282 out of 400.

After that i started preparing for 2nd grp in MAy 2010 & even took classes from Parveen sharma sir..

i thought of getting exemption in accounts so as to cross min. 150 required to pass the group & in order to compensate for other 2 theory subjects IT & audit...

but all went in vain ...d accts xam was too tough...i feel i will not be able to clear it

How can parveen sir do that...he is so good ,reputed one ,qualified...

or that was the mistake of ICAI for such a difficult paper

Please tell me what is meant by Modules?

modules means the books provided by the institute...

can anyone tell me classes for  IT SM Audit

Other than surbhi bansal ...bcse i dont think so i'll get the batch for her classes

For SM module is the best. For IT any short selective notes of any good class.
