I want to know whether there is any abatement under work contract service & what is rate of service tax?
Machine given on rent ,whether this is covered under service tax? If, yes then uder what service it is covered?

There is no abatement for works contract, but you have a componding scheme wherein u can opt to pay tax at 4% plus cess
Hiring of machinery will come under Services in Supply of Tangible Goods - tax rate is 10.3%
Renting of machinery is not covered under service tax. It is covered under VAT. You need to charges VAT and not service tax.
