Service tax or vat is applicable
we are providing hand held metal detectors to parties on rent and the customers is asking us to charge kvat instead of service tax as no service is involed kindly advice me this matter

You are not transferring right tittle of goods rather you are charging for use of goods which is service on which service tax is levied so service tax is is applicable
