Could anybody help me in understanding service tax on online poker gaming, as to its taxability , rate procedure etc, its very urgent.

According clause (i) of sec 66D negative list service tax is not applicable on online poker game

Section 66D(i) merely covers for “betting, gambling or lottery”, which should only include the activities wherein some money value is on stake and is dependent on chance.

Thus, the said services in the nature of online gaming would be taxable if provided within the taxable territory.

Get registered as per Section 69 r/w Rule 4 of the Service Tax Rules, 1994, if your annual turnover of services exceed Rs.10 lakhs. Start paying Service tax @ 14.5% monthly (if you are a company) before 6th of the next month (except for March, where the date of payment is 31 March) and filing six-monthly returns by 25th of the next month.

I think it is v much taxable....coz what is secifief in neg list is admission fee to entertaiment events and not the amt charged for entertaiment....
