IN THE UNION BUDGET 2009 THE UNION MINISTER PROPOSED THE SERVICE TAX ON LAW FIRMS. I WANT TO KNOW THAT IS THIS PROPSAL BECAME APPROVED OR NOT. IF YES THEN WHAT IS THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS LAW. FROM WHERE WE CAN STUDY THE PROVISIONS FOR SAME.

yes the service tax on legal firms is applicable w.e.f 1st sep '09.. u can read the manual on service tax on legal firms from the file "service tax on legal services" which i uploaded now..it is in the service tax category.
