Service tax- need some urgent help

Queries 548 views 5 replies

Hi friends,

I am confused wrt Service Tax Input credit in regards to service tax on healthcare. If a patient does checkup from Hospital then who will get the service tax credit in all the following cases:

  1. He directly pays to hospital including service tax (I know the provision has been withdrawn but still I wish to know)
  2. The Insurance company directly pays
  3. The patient pays and later the Insurance company compensates him

In general who gets the ST credit. Service Provider or Service Receiver?

And Finance minister ne sirf 5% on Central AC and 25+ beds waala provision remove kiya hai (jo 2011 me aaya tha)...ya insurance walo k liye jo (2010 me aaya tha) vo bhi withdraw kar liya hai?

Thanks in advance for your valuable time.

As of now there is no service tax on health services except for cosmetic/plastic surgery.

thank you Sir....
but if Insurance company or employer pays it directly to the hospital still there is no Service Tax?

That also stands exempted

From this Budget Health Services are out of purview of service tax net except Cosmetic / Plastic surgery

Dear Sir

We hold a registration certificate (ST-2) dated 16/01/2009. But we were liable to pay service tax on transport of goods by road from 2006 onwards as pointed out by some audit team of central excise. We paid the entire service tax due from 2006 till date with interest. but we have not submitted the returns. Please let us know the amount of penalty if any is applicable on us and from when should we submit the return.

Any help in this direction will be highly appreciable

With regards
