U should go by updated one...i.e,..more recent one..

Also refer other books to confirm because it may be a printing mistake.

Can anybody solve my doubt?

I have received remittance from my foreign client against various invoices but they didn't give me payment details. Now i have to pay service tax on transportation on 5 th of this month. how can i pay services tax on on a/c payment?

Is there any way to resolve this.?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sameer

I couldn't understand your question though. From foreign customer for transportation?! May need further inputs to provide any useful inputs.

On a general note, account adjustment is also deemed as payment for the purpose of remittance of Service Tax.

Suvarna,

E-tax payment has been made mandatory with effect from October 1, 2006 for the assessee who has “paid” Service tax of Rs50 lakh (old) or more in the current financial year or the previous financial year. Recently, vide notification no. 01/2010-S.T. dated February 19, 2010, this limit has been reduced to Rs10 lakh.
