New regime contained in section 115BAC is applicable for AY 2021-22 and thus applicable for November 2021 exams. You should practice computations based on regular as well as new regime provisions. Generally, exam questions would ask you to ignore the provisions of 115BAC while determining the answer. However, if the examiner wants to check your understanding of 115BAC specifically, the question would ask you to consider these provisions.
Further, if the question asks you to determine the most beneficial tax position without making specific reference to regular or new provisions, you should make computation based on both regular and new regime and then compare to arrive at the answer.
