Sbi reporting famly pension in tds section 192 (salary) while should be income from other sources?

In Form 26 AS it appears that SBI is reporting Family Pension under Section 192 which is reserved for Salary income.  (Recipient  is the survivor of a Late. Govt of India employee. SBI Processes the family pensions for GOI)

However from Income Tax Department own site at https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/_layouts/15/dit/mobile/faqs/faq-questions.aspx?key=FAQs+on+Salary+Income&k= it clearly mentions that

Q: Is Family pension taxed as salary income?

A: No, it is taxable as income from other sources.

When we download the pre-filled XML from Income Tax Return site to prepare the ITR, it also picks this information as Salary Information.

If we manually correct it and move it in ITR to  Income from Other Sources, it will likely create a mismatch in the computer scrutiny.

What is the right course of action in this case?

No problem.

Offer it under Family pension tab of Schedule OS..

Do not claim Standard deduction of 40000/- but claim 15000/- as offered to it.

Even if query may raised, you can reply it as you have acted as per act.
