Any update on list received by the banks or not?

RBI has come out with the names of Audit Firms approved for appointment as Statutory Central Auditors in 25 Public Sector Banks for the year 2016-17.

Any update on list forwarded to the banks for branch auditors?

Whether CBI will ask for concent from continuing auditors?

As per the RBI guidelines every bank obtains consent every year from continuing auditors' too. Central bank won't be any different, I guess. In my information most banks do take consents from continuing auditors' too.

I hope that they will first start getting consent from continuing auditors as some firms might haven accepted for concurent audit or other assignemts  with the same bank or mergred with other firms and not availble for SBA, after this porcess, they will enquire with new auditors for their willingness.

It is reported that 5 subsidaries will be merged with SBI w.e.f. 1st April 2017. How will statutory audit of all 5 subsidaries will be over by 1st April itself. Have any one idea as to what will happen to statutory branch auditor of these subsidaries and SBI. Kindly explain.

Use of Pivot Tables in Bank Audits

With the help of Pivot Tables we can quickly get an overview of the Loans Portfolio. Import the text files obtained from the CBS system into excel and Insert a pivot table.Drag and drop the required fields in the pivot table to get the desired output for further analysis of the data.

Sample Analysis.
Imported Raw Data had a Total Loan Balance of Rs.67,87,60,387 having 1,568 Accounts in Various products.

After Inserting a pivot table we can see that New Construction Housing Loans account for 21.72% of the portfolio Consisting of only 56 Accounts out of Total 1,568 accounts.

What will be the chance of getting Branch Audit, after cooling period of Two years.
