How to enter different Interest amount in CGST & SGST coloum, portal not accept different amount, if enter Rs 1000 in CGST coloum & automatically reflect Rs 1000 in SGST coloum

Dear Querist,

as per my knowledge there won't be any case where intrest as per CGST and SGST will be differ.
they both are at equal amounts.
so i think your intrest calculation might be wrong.

Interest calculation is 100 percent correct. It's portal's technical OR software problem...

Only clarification from CBIC...

**The Problem already tweet to GSTech and GSTN...

Thanks you Raja P M Sir, Interest amount for CGST & SGST can be same if interest calculate before availing GST input

Suppose our CGST liability is Rs. 500 after availing CGST & IGST input, Interest calculation done on Rs. 500

or

our SGST liability is Rs. 1000 after availing

After adjustment of ITC what amount is payable and we will calculate interest on Payable amount only...

The best course of action in such cases will to be the principal gst amount. Interest can be paid as and when demanded by the department.

Interest applicable only on Outstanding Payables. Not on Outward Tax amount...

Yes.... May be the amount will be paid through challan. But, Don't be set off upto the correction from CBIC...

Interest calculation done on outstanding GST liability after availed GST input.

Can I show CGST Interest amount in GSTR 3B for return filing purpose, CGST amount lower than SGST

Mr Jatin.,

The problem only based on the equal amounts in the Interest Column. So, If You will pay equal interest then You can...

Otherwise If You are not like equally paid then no need to fill value in Interest column in GSTR 3B return.

Bcoz, If You fill then It's equally tagged. After Submitted You can't escape / file without payment.

So finally I decide no interest amount fill in GSTR 3B, when department demand I will pay from our electronic cash ledger .
