Sales liability lower than Credit note, How to address in GSTR-3B

Dear sirs,

My sales liability lower than credit note, how to address in GSTR-3B monthly return.

For example

May - 2020 sale liability
Taxable value. CGST. SGST
100000.00. 9000. 9000
Less:
Cr.Note. 150000. 13500. 13500

Kindly to suggest, how to address in GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B.

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the common issue of sales liability being lower than the value of credit notes issued in a tax period, specifically concerning GSTR-3B filings. The advice provided suggests that GSTR-3B does not accept negative figures for outward supplies. Instead, taxpayers are advised to carry forward the credit note balance and adjust it against future sales liabilities when they equal or exceed the outstanding credit note amount. Maintaining an Excel tracker for these adjustments is recommended.

GSTR 3b will not take negative figures for outward supplies. You have to show credit note in next month when your liability will be equal or more than credit note..

Hi Narayan sir,

Please keep excel calculation as track and adjust every month until the balance becomes NIL.

You may file GSTR3B with admissible turnover and claim balance in near future
