SAHAJ Form

In SAHAJ (Manual ITR 1) form there are many instructions, but a vital instruction is missing.

Where earlier we used to write Nil or Not Applicable - do we have to fill '0' in those column or just leave them blank?

If any one has any information on this plz share.

thanks

As these are OMR /computer readable - are there any validation checks?

Its not even clear whether the Dept. would keep a scanned copy of these form - or the data in such form would be captured in some sort of database

There is all sorts of opinion on such matter. The worse part is that despite of so many FAQs - there is not a single word on this basic issue of form filling.

As i am filling DVAT online sales tax return and leave blank the cells which i have no data to fill and when i submit the same and filled online and then open the same in PDF (when download) the cells are shown as zero. So i would suggest you to leave it blank.

@ Aditya I spoke to ASK and they say they have to be left blank

@ Harpreet This is not efiling - now a days efiling is the most easiest thing. Its the manual filing that is becoming complicated ! Yes, as per ASK, those nil & na columns have to be left blank.

I had forgotten to see the manual word as i thought you supposed to file by excel utility. Yes you can put Zero or straight line to avoid overwriting by intentionally or by mistake by others.
