Minister of Home affairs and Prime Minster of India must re-think their decision to change the eligible criteria for Bharat Ratna to allow sportsperson to receive the same.
If the award is given to such sportpersons then the value of this highest award will be like a normal award and also it will be insult to earlier Bharat ratna awardee's.
Is sachin tendulkar equal to Dr.B.R.Ambedkar?
Is Vishwanathan Anand equal to Dr.M.G.R?
Dr. Ambedkar and Dr. M.G.R. served the country, country people and much more.....
But sachin and vishwanthan anand excelled in thier own respective career, they have not done anything for the country people.....
Are they spending thier life time for the people of the country? No...they are working for thier own family good....just because while performing thier profession they used the Indian tag(represented India in the international level) does not mean they served/helped the people of india.....
IF such awards are awarded to sportpersons then tomorrow there will be a demand to give bharta ratna to Harbhajan singh, Shah rukh khan, etc.etc...
