what is the meaning of motion in this? and actual logic?
At a general meeting of a company, a motion for the appointment of two
persons as directors of the company by a single resolution shall not be moved unless
proposal to move such a motion has first been agreed to at the meeting without any vote
being cast against it......

motion is a proposal for the members present at the meeting.for eg a motion to appoint mr.x is laid by the chairperson B4 the members for discussion and voting ,will require seconded(supported) by other members if not seconded ,the motion will not be taken up for discussion and voting. that means considering the interest of the members B4 placing subject matter for discussion.
