Revised return filed without verifying original
I had Filed original return on 31st July but had not verified it.. I filed Revised return on 2 Aug without verifying origin al. Now I have got notice under 143(1) for late fee of 5000.. Is there any solution to this

Verify original ITR and file rectification to re process the case after that
The Form ITR-V-Income Tax Return Verification Form should reach within 120 days from the date of e-filing the return. The confirmation of the receipt of ITR-V .
If ITR is verified on time then only it is considered as a valid return
I have verified the original return today so it's within 120 days.. so should I now file a request for rectification.. or shall I wait to see whether it automatically re process
You can place a rectification request to reprocess the ITR

Wait for processing of original return and thereafter file rectification
Revised return replaces the original return. So original return may or may not get processed
Ok Maam so I shouldn't reply to the notice also right.. and wait for original return to be processed and then file rectification request
Late fee 5000/- is not applicable in your case since there is time limit to verify ITR
Yes, because you didn't verify the original return it is considered as not filed. Due to this revised return considered after due date.
Then what is the use of rectification?
Rectification if filed befor processing original return also results in se demand as till date original return not filed. Also clarification issued for it.
