14 January 2011I have e-filed income tax return of my client for AY1011 on 31.12.2010 which is after the due date.
As per ACT belated return can't be revised. Still my client himself e-filed revised return for the same updating bank details for claiming refund.
So my question is this revised return will be processed or be rejected?

YES BELATED RETURN CAN'T BE REVISED.
YOUR CLIENT'S ACTION IS NOT CORRECT..
REVISED RETURN WILL BE REJECTED...
UPDATED BANK STATEMENT FOR CLAIMING REFUND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY IT DEPT.

AS PER SECTION 139(5) ONLY RETURN FILED U/S 139(1) AND RETURN SUBMITTEDIN PURSUANCE OF NOTICE ISSUED U/S 142(1) CAN BE REVISED.SO IT IS CLEAR THAT RETURN FILED U/S 139(4)i.e BELATED RETURN CAN NOT BE REVISED.

Yes i agree with all these guys....... BELATED WRITTEN CAN NOT BE REVISED, It might be rejected by CPC, but still my opinion is that, u must wait for reply from CPC,
