Yes... If You are claim deduction in income tax...

Also it's better to future compliance.

If paid through banking mode then no need.

But, better to collect receipt...

If rent is paid via other than cash mode, then you can explain your expenditure through the bank transactions. However if you are paying rent and claiming the ITC of the GST charged on it, then invoice is mandatory.

Landlord issue invoice every month for your rent payment it is enough for claim at income tax Purposes.

Whenever you do NEFT for rent payment, send an email and ask for a revert email to acknowledge credit of funds to their account.
