The deduction available is the least of the following amounts:

a. Actual HRA received;

b. 50% of [basic salary + DA] for those living in metro cities (40% for non-metros); or

c. Actual rent paid less 10% of basic salary + DA
-------
Rent of furniture not allowed.
Basic salary is 214000 and da is 72000 actual hra cant not be given only 4000 rent per month give and the answer in the book is 44670 its is impossible to caluclate
You mean to say A & C (actual rent paid) are same !

@ kapadia this forum is not for solving sums.
if the querist knows all section and all income tax related matters its useless for him to ask the questions.
whatever u hv provided we hv been taught in the year 1992.
the comditions are enumerated in detail in tge section.
the conditions provided are written there.
least of the conditions.
Sabyasachi then reply to Shivkumar the Same what you replied now. If reply doesn't serve a purpose , it's waste of energy !!!
Kapadia shivkumar does not hv any query.
if u are asking on his behalf its not fruitful.

The same thing I am telling nobody has time to waste on irrelevant , un-fruitful and sheer waste of energy. Bye Good Day
