Section 225 ensures that the financial burden of an investigation, initially borne by the Central Government, is shifted to the wrongdoers or the entities that benefit from the recovery of funds. Specifically, if a person is convicted or held liable for damages in a court proceeding arising from an investigation, the court can force them to personally pay for the costs of that investigation.
