Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies GST implications when a Himachal Pradesh-based, GST-registered individual purchases agricultural goods such as spices and oilseeds from farmers in Uttar Pradesh. While many agricultural items are GST exempt, spices and oilseeds (for edible use) are taxable at 5%. The conversation also addresses whether Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) applies and the need for self-invoicing and e-way bills for interstate movement of these goods.

Most of the agricultural food items are exempt under GST.

But spices and oilseeds are taxable goods, please clarify

Yes, but in that case also URP will not charge GST.

Will RCM be applicable in such case and i have to do self invoicing and generate e-way bill for interstate movement?

Spices and oilseed (for edible purposes not for seed) attract 5%GST. Branded and packaged food grains attract 5% GST.
Spices and oilseeds are under the purview of gst subject to clauses.
