Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the rules around claiming refunds for Input Tax Credit (ITC) on services under GST. Generally, ITC on services cannot be directly refunded. Instead, it's used to offset your output tax liability when selling goods. Refunds are typically only permitted for exported goods or goods with an inverted duty structure.
Refund of ITC is not allowed. Under GST, what we do is to claim the Input Tax Credit ( ITC ) via our GST Returns ( FORM GSTR-3B ). Then that ITC can be used to off-set your Output Tax Liability.
