A insured's goods was sent through a public carrier which met an accident. The excise duty was paid for the goods carried. Whether we can claim refund of excise duty for those goods which didnot reached the destination.

There is no provion for granting refund of duty after goods are cleared from factory.

There is provision regarding the remission of duty in case of goods are unfit for final consumption, destroyed by natural acident, lost in natural cause before removal of goods from factory"
Hence it is loss to the manufaturer.
