Reflection of tds for salary due on 31 March; but paid in April beginning

Hello, Good day!

Salary due on 31 March, but paid on 2 April.

In above case, the TDS Form 24Q for Q4 should reflect the above deduction. However, when I tried, it did not allow me to include TDS deposited in April, stating last date of quarter was 31 March. So, I reflected same in Form 24Q for Q1 next quarter, with bank challan stating that TDS was for previous FY.

However, same is reflecting in Q1 of next Fy; not Q4 of earlier FY.

Can it be corrected now? Will TDS Form 24Q allow inclusion of TDs deposited in April for the Q4 quarter?

Thanks for your guidance in advance. Regards

Dear Sir

TDS for the month of March can be paid before 30th April .  Hence it can be included in TDS return 4th Quarter.  For your case you have to file revised  return in first quater deleting the entry and  challan and in the 4th quarter adding the entry

Dear Mr Vaidhyanathan, Thank you for the clarification. One more linked query as under.

I did try to enter this challan paid on 12 April to the previous quarter's Form 24Q. However, the software from TDCPC did not permit me that then; stating that payments from next quarter cannot be added to it. Why did this happen then? I am sure about this, as I tried it a couple of times.

I do hope it does not stop me doing this now!

Thanks and regards.
