Reference books for final

Final 2210 views 16 replies

Hello members.. Please suggest me good reference books for self study for CA Final New Course for the following subjects:

1. Advanced Management Accounting

2. Information Systems Control & Audit

3. Direct Taxes

4.Indirect Taxes.

I have studied Taxmann's book for PCC and found it to be very good. Should I get it for Final as well?

Besides that, I have got Surbhi Bansal's handbook for Advanced Auditing & Professional Ethics, but I am not satisfied with it as its very brief and does not covers all the topics concisely. So, should I substitute it by book from another author?

Please share your opinions.

Regards

Hi Neeraj, here are the names of some good books I know:

1. Advanced Management Accounting - Aditya Jain

2. Information Systems Control & Audit - Dinesh Madan

3. Direct Taxes - Vinod Gupta

4.Indirect Taxes - Bangar

I do not know much about the Taxman publications.

I also recommend you a site www.cagyan.org specially meant for students preparing CA Final. Hope you are answered.

For costing-you can follow padhukas Sarvana Prasath book. Its worthy

For Direct taxes-follow padhukas if you don have much time or else prefer your taxman

Indirect taxes-bangar to appreciate the subject its very good, but for revision you may feel bulky to read it.

Isca-prefer institute material or else dinesh one is also good.

For Auditing-follow kamal garg. Actually i have heard from many rank holders preferring surabhi bansan. If you are not satisfied with it, just try this kamal garg, bharat publishers one.

AMA - Sanjay Aggarwal (class notes) ( Book : Ravi M Kishore) ISCA - Manish Valechha plus practice manual DT - T N Manoharan or VG IDT - N S Govindan for concepts ( (Practice past exam/RTP Qs from padhukas/banger)

Gurdip singh ? i beg your pardon but aditya jain is for SFM not for AFA ( AFA means costing )

As per my views:

PAPER 5 : ADVANCED MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING - DO MODULE ALONG WITH PADHUKA

PAPER 6 : ISCA- ONLY STUDY MATERIAL CAN FETCH YOU GOOD MARKS

PAPER 7 : DT - YOU CAN SELECT ANY BOOK AMONG TN MANOHARAN / GIRISH AHUJA / PADHUKA or VINOD GUPTA ( but in case of vinod gupta arrange notes of salary and HP from any other teacher )

PAPER 8 : IDT - BANGER IS FANTASTIC FOR IT

Thanks everyone for ur suggestions. But I would like to know how would be padhuka for ISCA because I have heard that it covers Institute's Material,RTP and past exam questions as well.

And which book among Ravi M. Kishore and Padhuka is good for practice for Advanced Management Accounting?

Yes padhuka is very good for ISCA you are right .... if you wish to learn text in Q&A format rather than in para form as given in modules you can refer padhuka ...... and yes you are correct it contains rtp's  and all past examination quesions

Please suggest me some good book for IDT self study??

GO for BANGAR

for Direct Taxes Girish Ahuja's book is unparallelabe. Go with it for sure shot success.

I saw Girish Ahuja but I dont find it good enough.. Rather I feel VK Singhania scores better than Girish Ahuja.. And which book for Advanced Management Accounting among Padhuka and Ravi M Kishore from practice point of view???

  • In my view do not refer book of any teacher being they do not want to share their approach in their books.

  • Notes also have incomplete content creating confusion and simple things become complex because half is in their notes and half is in their class note.

  • Books published by Paduka is also not good being it is just compilation of various theory and have no logical flow.

  • Best to go with Study Material provide by our institute and have books for reference only.

Hi Ravi, I really apologise for the mistyping. I meant Aditya Jain for SFM actually.

HI Sanjeev, I agree with you. Specially the latest edition of the Institute has improved drastically compared to the last year.
