Received 143(1) demand for original (but not revised) itr

I had filed an ITR 4 return (original) and paid Rs. 6800 as tax due. I then realized that I had to file an ITR 3 return instead and duly filed a (revised) return.

A few days ago, I received a 143(1) intimation demanding Rs. 6800 on the original return, and it stated that the department could not trace the 6800 payment made.

Should I ignore this and wait for the assessment on the revised return to be completed?

Please advice, and thank you in advance.

Yes, but check whether the SAT of Rs. 6800/- reflects in form 26AS.

Yes it is.

So is it safe to ignore this 143(1) then?

Also, why did this original return even undergo the 143(1) process when there was a revised return filed? Shouldn't the original return be ignored in such cases?

It may be technical error. But you may file rectification request for the original ITR processed, if do not get revised return processed in near future.
