Rebate vs refund?
if my gross total income is less the 5L then I get rebate of 12500..why cant I call it as deduction of 12500..any reason for specifically calling it as rebate ?

You can call it as deduction as rebate u/s 87A is given by government irrespective of any investment
I have to paid rs 3800 as pending tax to income tax,but by mistake I have paid 50000,now while login into tax portal its till demand rs 3800,its no t getting updated.Also how can I refund that excess amount paid to income tax.kindly guide
