Query regarding submitting response by attaching documents under e-proceedings

Efiling 362 views 3 replies

A notice has been received U/s 143(1)(a) and has to be replied through the e-proceedings tab on the IT Portal. The notice is disagreed. There is a box provided to submit the response in text form.  The response is entered in the said box. I wish to attach a document(s) in support of my contention. But there seems to be no provision to attach a document. The document alone will substantiate our contention to disagree with the proposed adjustment intimated by the CPC. How to attach a document while submitting the reply? If a document cannot be attached here, what is the other option to share the document with the tax authorities?

  1. Respond in Detail and Reference Documents:

    • Enter your point-wise justification in the text field.

    • Clearly mention in your reply that you have documents (name them) to substantiate your claims, but the system does not permit uploading at this juncture.

    • If no "Attach/Upload document" button or link is visible in the reply section, this limitation is system-driven and not an error.

    • After submitting your text response, you can also email the supporting documents to the CPC (Centralized Processing Centre) using the official CPC email ID referenced in the adjustment notice. Make sure to mention your PAN and the unique communication/reference number of the notice in the subject line and content.

Many thanks for your quick response. Attachment option is not seen. I raised a grievance and am waiting for response. If response is not received, I will go by your suggestion.

Good luck.
