Hello

I am a CA with 1.5 years or experience in export oriented manufacturing concern.

My current package is 35000 per month

I got an offer for job in Dubai. It is a trading concern. They are offering me 3500 dirhams per month without accomodation.

Please suggest me whether I should accept the offer or not??
& please give me an idea of cost of living there for a single individual.

Hi Rachit

From what I have heard (from my cousins/friends) staying and working in Dubai, I feel it is an excellent offer for you. Considering the fact that the Salary Income earned in Dubai in free from Taxes (as against here in India). Also the cost of petrol, cost of living etc is decent.

Your current package comes to around Rs. 60,000 per month which is excellent for a start. Also, you can remit the amount to India without worrying about taxes etc.

Yes, the initial months might be tough. Ofcourse, its a muslim country, so expect strict laws regulations etc. To put it in simple words, its not India!! But once you settle down there, it will become easy.

I would advice you to consider the job offer.

Hi Rachit,

My advice to you would be a Strict NO. I have been working in Muscat for quite sum time now and after coming here i got to know the payscale in Middle East countries.

I have a friend in Dubai who is Semi Qualified and earning 6000 AED. 3500AED is nothing if they are not providing you accommodation. you will atleast spend 1000-1500 for a Shared Accommodation + your living expenses as Dubai is expensive.

I doubt if you can save more than 1500 AED and as a Chartered Accountant I don't think its a good Deal.

A Chartered Accountant should atleast get around 8000 AED.

Surely you should not accept offer as the salary package is very low and without accomodation its not acceptable. I feel as a Qualified CA one should go outside only with package of not less that 12 Lacs p.a. in hand. As you are in job and getting decent salary. Try oversaeas but go with good package only. You should be better paid for your Risks and distance from society.
