We are manufacturer & exporting our perfumes besides domestic market ! then do we need to pay excise to our vendors to the tune of raw material we are using for Exports ? Can we be exempted from paying this excise & if so what is the procedure ?

1. we are aregistered with excise & submitting ARE
2. we are also claiming drawback !But this is only 2% which is very less.So we are thinking to avail the exemption of excise at vendor level !

Please advise.

No, you do not need to pay excise duty to your raw material supplier. you can purchase against CT-3 for exemption of excise in purchase, if you consumed r/m to manufacture item which export. for more detailed queries contact at your excise officer/superintendent.

Duty free goods can be procured against CT3 only when you are registered as an 100% EOU. But htis is not the case. Yes, you can procure any raw material  which is used in the manufacture of any export goods whether excisable or not, under Notification No. 43/2001, by executing a Bond with your  jurisdictional AC/DC

Mr Prem Chand is saying that CT3 needs to be used while Mr Raksh*t says CT3 is only for 100% EOU which we are not ! so what is correct ????

Mr Raksh*t are u talking about Form 45 & then filing of ARE2 ???

Can we not pay excise at all & still claim Drawback or only one thing at a time ???

Yes. U r right. About drawback, pl. check Drawback Schedule
