Professional tax payment
Do we need to pay professional tax even after discountinuing from profession since 5 to 6 years......but still registered with the dept....bcz I have received notice from the Dept demanding professional tax payment for last 5 years with interest and penalty.....

With the discontinuance of business one should surrender the PT registration too, i.e all the govt. documents related to the same.

Yes, you have to make the PT payment with interest and penalty alomgwith send the surrender documents too to the dept.

No,you have to make the payment.
Else the interest portion will increase.
