anybody know about the slab on which...professional tax is calculated as we know only the maximum limit of it is 2500/- but on wot basis it is calulated and whr to pay this tax?

PROFESSIONAL TAX IS PAID ACCORDING TO ONES INCOME AND IT IS DIFFERENT FOR DIFFERENT STATE .THERE ARE SLABS FOR PT . SO FOR WHICH STATE YOU WANT ?

HI ,

PROFESSIONAL TAX RATES FOR GUJRAT ARE AS FOLLOWS

RS 3,000 - RS 5,999 = RS 20,
RS 6,000 - RS 8,999 = RS 80
RS 9,000 - RS 11,999 = RS 150
RS 12,000 above = RS 200

THIS IS FOR MONTHLY INCOME . AND RS 2,500 IS MAXIMUM LIMIT . RS 200 X 12 = RS 2,400 BUT FOR FEBRUARY IT IS RS 300 SO IT IS RS 2,500 .

AS I THINK YOU ARE FROM GUJRAT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT ARE THE APPLICABILITY FOR VAT AUDIT ?

PROFESSIONAL TAX FOR GUJARAT

PROFESSIONAL TAX ON EMPLOYEE (RECOVER FROM MONTHLY SALARY)

USE FORM 5 FOR PAYMENT. AVAILABLE AT AHMEDABAD MUNI.CORP'S WEBSITE

CHEQUE TO BE PAID ON OR BEFORE 15TH OF FOLLOWING MONTH FROM WHEN YOU HAVE DEDUCTED TAX.

CHEQUE SHOULD BE IN FAVOUR OF " MUNICIPLE COMMISSIONER AHMEDABAD" OR " AHMEDABAD MUNICIPLE CORPORATION "

TAX RATES SLAB ARE AS UNDER (FIGURES ARE IN RS.)

1. 0 TO 2999 NIL

2. 3000 TO 5999 20

3. 6000 TO 8999 80

4. 9000 TO 11999 150

5. 12000 & ABOVE 200

TAX WILL BE COLLECTED FROM EMPLOYEE ON PROPORTIONATE BASIS OF SALARY PAID FOR EXAMPLE: IF EMPLOYEE SALARY IS RS. 12000 BUT HE GETS RS. 6000 SALARY IN ANY PERTICULAR MONTH (FOR ANY REASON) THEN TAX WILL BE CHARGED RS. 80 AND NOT RS. 200

Hi,

I heard the slabs for PT deduction have changed effective 2009.. is it true.. what is the changed slab.. where can I download the challan for PT payment for Karnataka state and how is the interest calculated if PT is not paid in time?

is there any threshod limit for number of employees in firm to be eligible for deduction of professional tax?If there is only one employee then also professional tax is to be deducted?

Sir it's applicable to andhrapradesh professional tax for the same also could u plss guide u mention is proportionate basis so any actual salary but getting lower than actual so it's not applicable is it correct sir
