printing under service tax

Dear Abhay,

you are right that there id no seprate service for Printing activity. till now printing activities have been covered under VAT. e.g If you are a Printer- like offset printer, card printer etc you will be covered under VAT. and can charge VAT from your customers.

Printing activity being in the nature of worsk contract could be covered under business auxiliary service. However all processes in relation to printing are excluded from the levy by way of an exemption notification 14.
