So the results are out and only 3 out of 100 students are happy. Students are not able to even react on what has suddenly happened? Our Respected (pun intended) President of ICAI was asked by Times of India (which has carried a report today on results) about the pass percentage. Below is the link of the same:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/mumbai/Only-3-1-of-CA-final-exam-students-pass/articleshow/28864341.cms

Well if only the shock over seeing the results and pass percent was not enough, waking up in the morning after a dreadful night to get this piece of article was another shocker.

It is a fact that the one scores marks on the basis of efforts taken by them. But what message is he trying to give? Does he mean that only 3 out of 100 students have written properly in the exams, done their articleship seriously and understood the subjects. Well! Quite an achievment.

But why does'nt he reflect on the fact that sheer drop in pass percentage is definately questionable. The score of 1st Rank student (which has gone down considerably) itself answers some of the question. President's comments that this kind of results were common in 80's and 90's is simply unacceptable.

While regardless of results, everyone (even failed students) do have immense respect for this profession and more imprtantly it's care taker i.e ICAI and its council, only thing one can assume is that when everyone is moving ahead in 21st century, CA students are being pushed back to 80's and 90's, well before the time when they were not even born.
