1) for SPM( paper 17) -first segregate the theory questions in last 3 chapters containing 40 marks and next do all the sums in t.book which contains 30 marks arround and read some case studies like CRM,SCM,target costing,BPR,balance scorecard bench marking contains 20 marks and for 10 marks they will ask one theory question from the 6 chapters..so better to prepare for 90 marks,so that u can easily score 50 marks in dat. along with that do previous papers from dec 2014...

thnx for ur reply but wat abt other paper ???pls suggest

for paper 18-- Do amalgamation first- mostly p.c calculation ,merger/ purchase method sums, demerger, internal reconstruction, sale of division,

do accounting standards as AS-11,15,16,18,19,20,22,25,26,28,29..........

next VAS,EVA,HRA, cash flow, guidance notes sums, and share based payments cumpolsury sum.

next read Government accounting theory-15 marks( better to read previous papers and current RTP,PTP)

next do consolidation contains 25 marks..........mostly.(ca scanner with repeatedly askd ques in C.A and current RTP,PTP) ...

for paper 19- cost audit..

do cost accounting standards first- materials, employee cost, overheads, direct expenses, computation of cost of production,etc.....

read the theory from recently issued book( for cost audit record rules) .. u can get the practical theory along with the sums in that book.

read monitor theory and sums..from 2008 dec - mostly 30 to 40 marks u can cover

read 10,11,12 chapters in t.book containing 20 marks.....

if u need any clarifications further ,u can see the new syllabus previous papers....

for paper 20- u can easily score exemption in dis....

do t.book sums---- 1) trend ratios, common size statement, comparitive income statement- u can get 10 to 15 amrks.

2) do ratio analysis , cash flow, altman -z  sums, comparive profit statements,du-pont analysis, and leverage sums......-around 30 marks....

remaining 5 to 10 marks miscellaneous sums in t.book would get covered.... for this 50 marks u hv to do the practical part(sums) and write the analysis also. for further clarification u can see rthe previous papers..they gave clearly dat how to attempt the analysis part...focus here ....u can easily score...

remaining 50 marks

valuation of 1) good will 2) shares 3) Business...covers 25 to 30 marks

brand,mm-hypothesis,- 5 to 10 marks

merger and acq- 10 marks

valuation models - calculation of FCFE,FCFF, EVA, etc.....

dey can ask ratio analysis also........and do the previous papers.....no need to focus more on theory..hardly 5 to 10 marks 'may' come.

ok..........all the best for ur exams............be happy........

Must do ptp, mtp, rtp for all the subjects usually carries 20-30 marks each paper.

paper 17 - if you are good in theory target part b&c (single practicle question altman z model- 5 marks either in paper 17 or 20 part-a(june 15) - must do ) along with chapter 3 form part a along with it practicle question & for case study do rtp, mtp, ptp (usually same in exam - e.g. june2015) - leads to full 100 marks.

paper 18 - do part c first because some topic like valuation of HR/VA/EVA are comman with paper 20 - then do govt accounting (one question from basic, one from committees, one from standards, one from rest) - then Amalgamation - then standards - then Consolidation (because as per last two paper style you can do 35 marks amalgamation & 15 marks consolidation.

paper 19 - focus on CRAR 2014 (15-20 marks) - then operational audit (safety) - then case study (do ptp, rtp, mtp) (sure 20 ,marks) - then practicle question from cas(labour-7, material-6, cap comp-4 practicle questions - around 10-12) - then Caas (only 4 are there must have idea about it (5-10marks)

paper 20 - focus on part -a much easy for candidate & limited scope area for examiner practice from rtp, ptp, mtp is sufficeint. for part - b do valuation & m&a & ptp, rtp, mtp.
