practice or employment

hi friends,

i cleared CA in Nov.2007.i need ur valuable views in taking decision as to go for practice or employment.

the firm in which i did articleship offers me partnership.eventhough i like practice , the ground realties and other options(ie,employment) availabe are lucrative.i am confused as to what to do.

pls. express ur views and suggestions to help me take decision.

also i am not fully aware of the employment opprtunities available for CA.

help me out.....

HI, according to my view, if you want short term benefit u can go for employment.u wont get any experience in employment.but if you want long term benefit and experience, you can do practice.

i think u have to go to employment there take NOC from ur employer and join as a partner. after some period u can a right decision

I wud still give employment an upper hand over practice....If u look in todays environment, job opportunities available for CA have increased tremendously....Earlier in the field of I Banking only MBA's were preferred but now CA's are also looked upon....Why go further...jst look at the CA journal of Feb 08...u will find tht Goldman Sachs is looking for CA's...this shows opportunities available for CA's....I am not against practice...but some how I feel that I takes too long to set up your firm and that adds to ur frustration as in first three years u wud only be putting frm ur pocket....Also u need very good contacts for practice, to make it successful.....
