Practice as a partner in CA firm and in proprietorship firm at the same time?

Can I be a partner in a CA Firm and do practice as well as a proprietorship in the name of my firm at the same time?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies that it is indeed possible to be a partner in a CA firm while simultaneously operating your own proprietorship firm. The key consideration is that the total limit on assignments must be combined from both your personal firm and the partnership. The process involves adding you as a new partner via the SSP portal by the firm's constitution, and this arrangement does not affect the standing of your existing proprietorship firm. However, points awarded for tenders may not be counted universally across both entities.

Yes this is possible. However total limit on assignments shall be taken after combining the ones done under your own firm and the partnership firm.

Thank you sir for such information ,

Is there any special process for such partnership or we can just do just by partnership deed ?

This can be done by the deed. The person who constituted the firm with ICAI shall add you their new partner via SSP. Thats all.

And there will no effect on standing of my prop. firm right sir?

Yes. That would remain unaffected.

Thank u sir so much to clarify my doubts 😊
