Yes.. we need help from fellow members.. infact suggestion like wat books to refer or study time.. portion coverage.. it will be really appreciated...

Ya, i gave my exams in November 2010 but the mistake i had done was in the preparation level itself. No proper planning, no proper time management and did Quantitative Study only. But anyways i am trying to forget it and am trying to prepare some strategy to make sure that May 2011 will be my last attempt. For those who are gonna write exams in May 2011, i wud suggest u the following. Do proper time management and planning for your studies and stick on to it. Study keeping in mind both knowledge acquisition as well as exam tactics also. Regarding books, use any book which will give you both knowledge as well as prepares u for the exam in a short period of time. For eg. For DT, dont use SInghania's book cos it will give u lots of knowledge but doesnt help to prepare u in a short time from the exam's view. Also, avoid people who discourage u or kill ur motivation and keep telling negative things. believe in urself. All the Best

Hey Sreev..

Thanks for ur valuable feedback... but can u suggest few book as well....

Thnx...unity is strength n togedr with al of experiens v cn learn wt is nt posibl thru self or actuly atmptng ppr...dis forum is best platform to learn n avoid wt odrs hv comitd...so ppl do ur bit n m sure evry1 wil gain out of it...

for Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management and Advanced Management Accounting follow Padhukas blindly cos it covers ICAI Material Probs, Past Exam and RTP Ques. You can easily get good marks if you work out probs asked in that book as many time as possible but that book contains some typing errors here and there so check that out. For AS 30, 31,32 work out the prob in ICAI's study material. They are the examiner's favourite. For Audit, use V.K.Aggarwal/ Kamal Garg coupled with Reliance Compilers. will prepare you for exams in good amount of time. For Law, only Munish Bhandari. For ISCA, use any book of your comfort be it ICAI material or DInesh Madan or Padhuka cos all three almost take same amount of time to cover. For Direct Tax Laws, Follow T.N.Manoharan coupled with ICAI's supplementary study material and selected case laws for 2010. For IDT, i myself wanna know which book to refer cos i used Bangar's book but found that it uses some sophisticated english and is too voluminous for me to take. SO IDT book alone use any good book of ur comfort be it Ajay Jain or Padhuka or Vaitheeswaran and supplement it with ICAI's supplementary material and selected case laws 2010. Do well. Believe in yourself. Stay and Study Smart. All the Best for your exams

Thanks Sreev..

in btw u used padhuka for all the practical subject and wat AS ??

I used Padhukas for FR, SFM and AMA but the thing is that i didnt use it properly and am regretting it now. But see, if u are not comfortable with padhuka u can use any other good author's book of your comfort like MP Vijay Kumar for FR, AN Sridhar for SFM and Vashisht & Saxena for AMA but if u use those books, work out ICAI material probs once after finishing each chapter. Regarding Accounting Standards, I used DS Rawat. You too can follow the same or use M.P.Vijaykumar's AS book

i suggested Padhukas for practical subjects cos as i said above it contains ICAI study material probs, past exam ques and past rtps there. No need to refer any second book if u go through padhukas thoroughly for FR, SFM and AMA but the negative in that book is that bind is little bit bad and some typing errors here and there.

my advises

1. dont faith blindly at your classes OR your respective subject teacher

2. Do Institute recent case study as the most urgent priority for DT and IDT

3. Pls see the module at least once so that u cant be targetted.

4. for theory subject revise revise and revise esp w.r.t audit and Isca. i forgotton everything in these two subjects.

Lastly treat the Institute wid the ultimate respect

faith watever is being said by them and accept whatever is being given

do not faith blindly on any teacher

i reallly had faith on them( except costing ) but i suffered

dt exam was so easy this time but was not covered from the most preferred teacher of delhi

it was seeming like icai has targetted his classes

rest DT was very easy even containing direct 20 marks question of pcc level in it as it contained 10 marks SEC 54 + 10 marks set off

but mine exam of dt was not good

mine restt of the exams were ok

one thing i must tell you that this time the question paper were not difficult at all

all were very easy.( it is true despite the fact that i wont score well i cant deny this fact )

I had covered 95% syllabus before the exams but due to lack of revisions i forgotton a big part thereof.

I m really thankful for one extra question this time in every question paper to ICAI

i have my cwa finals appearing from 10th december thereafter i will again study for ca finals as i dnt have much intuitions of passing this time.

whatever will be the result i m ready to accept it. I wont blame ICAI .

just one simple advice...............d more u study..........d more u retain.....so start early.........revise regularly....everyday............and one very valuable advise......always remain happy.coz if u r happy ,u will always do well in life...dnt take unneccessary tentions.........and give ur best in wat ever u do...all d best

when the pattern of the paper changed students could not digest it at once in paper 1. that moment was break even point for us . it showed affect on all others. most of the questions were  direct from  institute material and rtp. for evidence glance  through the papers once. writing both the groups i felt it really advantageous. 6 months preparation is enough but atleast 10 hours a day. studing with two of other dedicated friends is best and  plans shall automatically get executed.

obedience and faith in guru can help u get insights and depth in the topics u study. scolding commenting wrongly about them will show a long term negative affect on the subject which he teaches(no matter how the guru is) good relation with mother will enchance ur studying capabilities and updates ur brain with concentric fibre so that ur concentration levels increase abnormally.

Wat i would like to say is give importance to all subjects. Have a complete study atleast one. Complete means dont be selective. Plan revision for atleast 1 or 1.5 month. Feel comfort. Get books of your choice but preferable follow national authors as they ask questions blindly out of it even nos dont change Ex. D.S Rawat for Accounting standard. Bangar for IDT. Pattabirams SFM. They are the best books and interesting too. Give importance to subject like ISCA and audit Cos they really kill a day b4 exam if not prepared properly. All the best

"Practise maketh a man " This proverb s highly relevant for CA Students..  Finish your syll four months before exams.. u can use any book (author) of your choice.. but select books which have simple language and which can be reasonably covered the day before exam (Eg. IDT- Vaitheeswaran book ).

Revise, revise, revise..... this s the key mantra for success. wa ppl mostly do is , they finish the syll oly april second week. hardly they allocate ten days for revision which s not sufficient. wat happens is- u know the contents , but half.. half knowledge is dangerous.. thats wy we end up with 40-45 marks.. if revision is done that extra ten marks (55) we can get easily!

regarding practical subjects, work out with conceptual knowledge. u need not work out the entire sum chronologically.. just try impotant steps and calculation . step marks are most important in practical subjects, (Pl don do AUDIT of practical subjects)

Last, have faith and confidence in what u r doing.. pray to god that everythin should go well.. "DO YOUR BEST, GOD WILL DO THE REST".

all the best
