Hi Friend, Interpretations given to various topics in reference books may vary when compared to Institute Study Material. So, even my teachers suggest to study mainly the study material as it is given by the institute itself and not to refer more reference books as it may confuse us...

IT is not necessary that u should follow INSTITUTE MATERIAL.

THE REASON you follow reference book is that u feel that the institute material given is vague,

like for STRATERGIC MANAGEMENT or BUSINESS communication, follow only institute material as they are good.

for AUDITINg and TAX Institute material is really vague. follow some reference book which u feel is simple.

remember to check the institute book for ur syllabus. dont study other thatn whats given in the institute book.(i mean the Syllabus,Portions)

Please refer Agarwal book for Auditing. Its good.

In my opinion institute's material should act as the base for preparation.the problem which people feel with the study mat is that some topics are covered very brieflyand which leads to rather confusion than clearing of the concept.Here comes the role of a ref.book.Also in practical oriented papers the institute's material fails to provide adequate practice and in most cases starts with a tricky one,here also a reference book would help.However dont refer to too many books it will increase confusion and nothing else
