Hello All Members !!

Today I e-filed ITR-1 for A.Y 2014-15.  I am a Central Govt Employee & the NPS Amount (Both 80CCD(1) & 80CCD(2)) thats being deducted & shown in Form-16 is greater that 10% of Gross Salary due to some arrear from previous year. The system calculated Amount is showing deduction upto 10% of Gross Salary & hence I need to pay additional Rs 290/- as Tax.

Now I want to know can I pay the Tax & file revise return or should I wait for CPC to send me an intimation?

You filed the return without paying the tax??

Yes....cause I was not aware of the rule and thought that Tax Credited as per 26AS was correct.

As per the Department, the IncomeTax Return Filed by the Assessee in which Tax Payable Is Greater than Zero is a defective return. The Department will not Concider it as a normal return irrespective of the reason.

1. If You wait for the Dept"s Letter, Department will Add Interest to the original amount and ask to pay it.

OR

2. Pay Taxes and File a revised Return at the earliest.

Dear Suvajit

First pay tax(if payable), & then file the return.........

You need to revise your return...
