Dear Sir/ Madam,

One of my relative ( widow, having one married daughter and one son) retired on reaching superannuation at the age of 58 years from an Organization after serving more than 25 years. She is supposed claim pension submitting Form 10D. Because of Covid -19 situation she is unable to contact her employer. However, she has collected all the information documents. One thing she is not clear whether she has to submit 3 copies of 'Single' photograph or ' Jointly with her children'.

Awaiting valuable suggestion

Hey Rajib! About the Form 10D submission for PF pension claim:

  • The widow (member) needs to submit 3 copies of her own recent passport size photographs (single photographs), not joint photos with children.

  • These photos are required to be self-attested and used for processing the pension claim.

  • The claimant herself is the pension beneficiary, so only her photo is needed.

  • Make sure all other documents like PF account details, service certificate, and identity proof are attached as required.

If she faces difficulty contacting the employer, she can also approach the EPFO regional office or use the online PF portal (UMANG app or EPFO member portal) to claim pension directly, especially post-Covid many services are online.
