Penalty on late ITR filing due to server error

ITR 326 views 6 replies

I initially file the ITR on 12th july but it wasn't getting submitted due to server error. On doing quick google search it showed that everyone also had the same problem. Then i raised the grievance ticket and waited for it to resolve. I checked for a week and then forgot about it.

Now few days back I tried again, ITR filed successfully but penalty of 5k+ has been issued due to late ITR filing. Is there anyway this penalty can be relaxed? The grievance ticket is still not resolved.

There is an issue on the portal , wait some days , I will suggest file the return after 15th Aug
IT dept only considers date of ACK. whether you face internet problems is not considered. Rs 5000 has been charged as late filing penalty under sec 234F. Strictly speaking this should not be charged as due date has been extended till September 30 .But in India, the person who writes order does it " kagaz unka, kalam unki phir kon rokega unheard? "
You can't go to appellate authority for two reasons. What if it also passes wrong order? Just the way portal has charged Rs 5000 wrongly?
Secondly, the expenses will be more than Rs5000 in order to recover Rs 5000.
Just take this as a lesson for future. You must stick to July 31 deadlines. And file before 20 days from due date!
Samantha Ji , do you have a knowledge, why you are giving non sense replies
There is an issue on the portal , last date to file is extended to sep 21, but portal not updated till date. So, wait some days there will be no late fee.

Wait pl. Meanwhile file Grievances giving details on IT portal. U will get the redressal from them

The software has been developed by B.Tech degree holder.Had it been developed by B.E. engineering holders this gross error would not have occurred!
Today,we are in an age where people don't know the difference between diploma,B.Tech and B.E degrees. Thus, we live in a world where such errors will occur.Everyone has 99/100 % in boards!
