PCC - Preparation Query

Hey Friends,

I've recently started preparing for my exams for May 2010, and in group 1 i'm preparing auditing on my own through padhukas and in group 2 i'm preparing Info Tech & SM on my own through padhukas, and for rest of the subjects i've taken coaching. Here my problem is, in group 1, i've taken coaching for advanced accounting in 2008 and now its not possible for me to prepare quickly as it is very long time since coaching i've touched my book. I need to prepare accounts slowly but also quickly as time is very less. I'm not good at accounts.

Auditing as i'm preparing on my own, even i'm very slow in understanding auditing, but still i can cope up with this.

Law is ok with me, i can do it..!!

Costing & FM - I can do this also.

Income Tax - Even this can be done but takes some time

InfoTech & SM - Problem arises again here, i'm not following the content given in Padhukas for InfoTech and SM is ok.

My major problem is with accounts when compared to rest of the subjects. I know accounts is very easy and scoring subject for others but when it comes to me i'm not comfortably doing accounts, because if i'm completing one topic and starting next topic then i'm forgetting the one i did before. Please tell me how to overcome this problem.

Do you think i can complete everything in 50 days, that too both the groups ?

Thank You..!!

Dear friend,

I do not think you need any kind of advise so am not going to trouble you more with my advises. Reason behind this is you are very well aware of your strengths and weaknesses which for me is very important and essential ingredient for exam success.

Just continue your study with full confidence and attitude. Keep analyzing the things and your preparation and modify it accordingly. Regarding forgetting one chapter next day I’d like to say don’t think too much and focus on conceptual clarity. After 2-3 days practice same chapter with any milestone or heavy question which contain all the adjustment of that chapter.

Wish you all the good luck.

Dear friend,

The most important tonic u need now is “CONFIDENCE”.

Don’t ask others over here if u can do it or not rather just say not even I can do it rather “I SHOULD DO IT “

HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS FOR U!

ACCOUNTANCY:

1.     Split the entire syllabus into small parts.
2.     First finish the small areas.
3.     Cover AS in total._(D.S Rawat is good)
4.     This would raise Ur confidence and also would take care of half the syllabus.
5.     Format- accounts nothing big than format and provisions.
6.     For company accounts chapter – CORPORATE ACCOUNTS BY T.S.REDDY & MURTHY (best for concepts and knowing the concepts ¾ th of the work is done.)
7.     For partnership, hire purchase and all the other chapters – FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING BY SAME AUTHOR.
8.     The simple English and detailed concepts w’ld help u all the way.
9.     The cost of book is max- RS 350 ( both)

AUDITING:

1.     Cover EDP. Special audits, govt audits and company.
2.     Then cover AAS. This takes care of almost all the chapters.

      LAW:
1.     Ethics & communication is the scoring part without any case laws.

COSTING:
1.                   Theory fills out for 40 marks.
2.                   So never ever omit the same.
     INCOME TAX:
1.     Provisions forms the major part
2.     Service tax is the catalyst

INFO TECH:
1.     Finish off the glossary covering abbreviations & short notes.
2.     Switch to flow chart.
3.     Read chapters with enough duration but never at a stretch. It’s quite dangerous.
4.     DBMS - one of the most important chapter
SM:
1.     20 marks case analysis purely based on the concept of all the other chapters.
2.     Perfect reading & understanding the given situation & answer to the point giving all our judgments.

Outstanding suggestion Ma'am.

Student should check their  preparation by solving previous exam questions from scanner.

Another important thing is giving some time for account and other practical theory. Preparation of own notes for theory paper is a very good idea but only for frequently asked questions. Do not dare to underestimate the importance of theory in numerical papers. Also give some time to yourself to relax.

One of the main reasons people do not reach their goals is because they set them too high. So set goals that are manageable and it does not make any diference if they seem too simple. First develop a habit of accomplishing small goals and than think about higher goals.

Good Luck

Thanks for the appraisal sir., Valuable comments from u . thanks for the same.

thanks for the suggetions...coz m also facing the same problem ...

Hi.. I think that u can do it. As there is no sufficient time available for you, just make it for the exams without going deeply into it.. Study  the relevant Portions only and i would suggest that Padhukas are good and very much exam oriented.

ALL THE BEST...

Hope this help u,good luck

thnx for ur suggestion ankur garg ur really superb

I would suggest you to better concentrate on any one of the groups. Otherwise you'll be frustrated at the end of April. Be confident for any one group atleast otherwise you know it's not B.Com examination..And by the time if you feel that you're comfortable with one group then secure other group or try to get exemption in one of the subject. And please forget about putting any chapter aside. All the very best. All is well.. Work hard and your job is over.
