HII!! EVERYONE I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A STORY ABOUT MYSELF IF YOU WOULD PLEASE PATIENTLY LISTEN TO IT AND SLOVE MY QUIERES IN THE END OF IT , THANK YOU TO EVERYONE .

TO Begin. yeah i am CA student just like anyone here. I have a dream of becoming CA one day . I am currently doing my articleship in a small firm.

I completed my 2nd year pre university exams in flying colours. i had scored 100 marks in my accounts and 98 in maths which is really good.. score as i was the only boy among my classmates who scored it . i was happy, full of dreams , had the spirit to crack anything . well yeah I was really happy . I finally joined the course which is one biggest dreams of my dad. He always tells me and my brother do CA , do CA...........i mean he never forced me to join this course.

I choose this course by choice. (P.S MY BROTHER IS IN FINAL CA NOW AND HE HAS COMPLETED GROUP 1.)

Now , coming back to story ....the truth is i selected this course cuz at that time when i completed my schooling i was full of zeal and spirit ,lets crack some tough course and prove something. and i joined in the year 2013. by the way i am 22 now. so i cleared my CPT on may 2014 like a champion i was jumping and my dad was really happy and i was happy cuz i wanted to fullfill my dads dream of becoming a CA.By the way my brother cleared his CPT with even lesser marks so i was really happy . i beat my brother and stuff like that. so i registered to IPCC on aug 2014 nd i finally came my IPCC exams on may 2015. well as the God would have it i failed it mesirably ..so badly that i couldnt show my face to my friends. i could never face them.or my relatives or my parents... Well my dad was upset too....P.S. .i didnt tell u guys this before , actually before joining this course my dad told me not to join if u just joinning for sake of it and blah and stuff...well me being adament i didint listen and joined it. My brother by the time i wrote my IPCC exams had failed once and had written and cleared both groups of IPCC in 2nd attempt with excatly 350 marks which is by setoff...but he cleared by a nerve.

Coming back to my story, I didnt give up so what i failed once .. i wrote again on NOV 2015 and i failed again with no difference at all in my marks.. same old story repeated to me. i again without losing hope wrote it again on ,MAY 2016 guess what i failed again.. by this time i stopped talking to any of my college friends or school friends .. i was very depressed and was really sad all the time. i never imagined this will be my state when i entered with such spirit and enthusiasm. i was topper in my college and had even got awards for my mark .... and here i was nothing . i was losing hope and my soul ...attempt by attempt ... not knowing what to do.. i somehow gathered strength and wrote again on NOV 2016 . and i failed again ..well this time i passed two subjects failed in few of them again...and after this attempt i started to do analysis myself .. what am i doing wrong.

I STARTED TO GAIN INTEREST AND STUDIED THEM NOT FOR SAKE OF MARKS OR EXAMS BUT TO LEARN THEM. I REALLY STARTED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH MY LAW SUBJECT WHICH IS BASICALLY MY FAVOURITE .......I MAY HAVE BEEN GOOD AT MATH AND ACCOUNTS ...I WAS MORE OF THEORY KIND OF GUY ..SO LATER ON AS I STUDIED...WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE I WAS ABLE TO RECALL ALL THE MATTERS IN PRACTICE MANUAL OF LAW . I WAS EVEN ABLE TO TELL WHICH PAGE NUMBER FOR EACH SECTION OR CONCEPT. AND I WAS REALLY FEELING SOMEWHAT CONFIDENT . SO I WROTE MY EXAMS AGAIN ON MAY 2017 WHICH IS THE ATTEMPT I LOVED THE MOST IN ALL OF MY ATTEMPTS ..NO I DIDNT CLEAR IF YOU GUYS ARE THINKING THAT....CUZ I WAS WRTING THE EXAM NOT FOR JUST FOR SAKE OF IT.. I WAS IN LOVE WITH SUBJECTS ..

GUESS MY ANOTHER FAVOURITE SUBEJCT GUYS WHICH IS ...YES , COSTING AND FINACIAL MANAGMENT ...I JUST LOVE THIS SUBJECT..WHICH WAS ALWAYS MY STRONG SUIT, WHICH STUDENTS USUALLY CALL IT THE CAUSE FOR FAILURE IN GROUP 1 . YEAH I SCORED 58 IN LAW IN MAY 2017 ATTEMPT WELL AND PASSED ALL THE SUBEJCTS AND GOT 185, FAILED CUZ OF NOT GETTING AN AGGREGATE. WELL YEAH I WAS NOT UNHAPPY OR SAD.. I WAS MATURED AND I GOT TO KNOW WHATS THE MEANING OF FAILURE MEANS . I WROTE MY IPCC 6 TH ATTEMPT OF NOV 2017 . YES I PASSED GUYS !!! THAT TOO WITH SCORING 70 IN COSTING AND FM. I KILLED IT ... I WAS SO ELATED WHEN I SAW MY RESULTS .. I WAS OVERJOYED AND REALISED , MAYBE FAILING IS PART OF LIFE .. AND FAILING IS NOT REALLY THE END OF WORLD AND TELL YOU WHAT.. ITS NOT ABOUT HOW YOU FAILED BUT HOW YOU FAILED AND KEPT MOVING FORWARD AND PROVED THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING IT ASWELL....WELL I HOPE MY STORY INSPIRED ATLEAST FEW OF THEM HERE.. I HOPE YOU GUYS LEARNT ATLEAST SOMETHING FROM IT.

AND YEAH IN THE PROCESS I LOST ALL OF MY FRIENDS ... WELL THEY DO MISS ME I THINK .ANYWAY , I WILL THROW THEM A PARTY AFTER CLEARING MY CA .

P.S. ..YEAH GUYS I WROTE MY GROUP 2 IN MAY 2018 THIS ATTEMPT I GOT 130 WHICH IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT FOR 2ND GROUP... WELL STILL GOD IS TESTING ME I GUESS..

I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS TO ASK TO YOU GUYS.....SHOULD I DO ANYOTHER COURSE ALONG WITH THIS ?? GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS .. I AM OPEN TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS

So You haven't cleared IPCC just yet.
But I know just what you went through because I went through the same. But remember, clearing group 2 is just as hard as the first group. Don't underestimate it. As now you are doing your articleship as well! So clear it ASAP, that will help you join ca final classes without any distractions.

As for suggestions,

If your theory is very good, Company Secretary course and LLB are very good options.

Can a student join for articleship only by completing IPCC group2???

Same also happened with me, but same time I m girl parents are also worried about our future, I already gave my 5 attempt but all time fail fail,, I feel I can't do anything, you know my father also said bank test try kro, I gave but interest, logic knowledge all are different for bank exam for me, now what shall be I do, totally confused now, will I give my last try, but all time one thought across my mind is that,, leave it na yaar, more options also available na,, if go for exam and pass after these, it's fail fail not happen with me again, not any surety na, leave it na, please tell

Let's analyze few things first...

So your journey is from may 2014 to may2018... That's 4years ... And you just qualified Ca IPCC group 1...so now if you start articleship your duration will be from aug2018 to aug2021... Let's assume that you'll pass your IPCC group 2 within this period and finish the coaching of Final... Also let's assume you'll take another year for Final that's from aug 2021 to may2022(since during articleship you'll be giving group 2 of IPCC which will take around half of your articleship period because you'll have very less time for studies say like 2/3 hours in weekdays and 7+hrs in weekends.. So (3*5+7*2) *40weeks= 1200hrs(approx.) per year.. Well it'll be enough... Now you'll be having 1.5years of articleship where you'll have 4/5months of study leave.. So 1200hrs study during first 1year of articleship and next 4months 120days*9/10hrs output = overall almost 2400 hours which is not enough as you need to prepare for more than 3000 hours(keep in mind that these are all productive hours).. So you'll need another 6 months and another 6months for risk factor)... So your CA took almost 8+ years (that is from may2014 to may2022)....Bro this is reality...

Now let's draw results from the above analysis:

1.Congrats you'll be a CA after 8 hard years.. That's good.. Well if you clear next levels at one go..

2.After articleship you'll be joining regular job since you'll have to earn... Well when the results come you'll be left with only 4months of study for you next attempt.. Well this is not enough while doing regular job as you'll be able to study only 35hours per week that is about 35*4weeks*4months= 560hours..well it's enough for one group but keeping this kind of rythm for 4/5 months is very hard and only few are naturally build like this...

3.All this while you'll be in a depression.. Guess why.... In the first stance we understood.. You really don't love CA it's just that you love challenges but your aptitude is different.. Otherwise being a topper you were supposed to pass 2 groups but you flunked 4times that to in Group1... Don't you see that you've artificially created an idea in your mind that you have love for CA... I know you cannot leave CA because usually students become emotionally connected with this course..

4.What is the guarantee that you'll become CA (well my intention is not to demotivate you)... If your capability, attitude and ability is different why do you think you'll be able to complete a course which requires a different capability and ability...

5.It can be clearly understood that you are smart and intelligent because you've got 100 marks in accounts and 98in maths.. which is not a joke... You could've done any other course of your interest with ease but here you are drowning... Remember Lions are the strongest only in land but if is thrown in the sea it may not survive like the crocodile does..

Now let's make some deep insights and find suggestions:...

1.Do you think 8+ years in CA worth it.. Well yes if you were an average student...I would clearly say no because 8years is a lot of time for development.. Bro you could've done so many things during that period... Say if you join even as a clerk after 3/4 years you'll be promoted to another level and you could've also done distance courses like CFA/ US CMA/ ACCA /CIMA...while working (as you'll also be working and studying while doing CA).. You'll have way more money than what you had if you would be CA.. Since during articleship you hardly get any money..

2.You said you love challenges.. well why didn't you try CAT... Usually people who love challenges love competitive atmosphere.. You said you got 98 in maths.. So CAT will be easy for you.. A MBA from IIM or tier1 colleges will give you more money than you would get after CA.. Most of the career options after MBA and CA are same except in CA you'll have prime focus in Auditing and Taxation and in MBA has a different domain like Marketing, HRM, Actuarial science, etc.. While other careers like Financing, Costing, Project Management, Consulting, Investment banking, etc are same in both... Now with your marks I'm sure you'll atleast get tier2 MBA colleges who earns the same as a CA... With the amount of hard work you'll be doing in CA... If the same is done in MBA you'll easy get IIM... Who knows maybe your interest lies there.. Did you ever consider which field you would love to work??

3.Finally , CA is a course where untill you complete there is no result even with half of it.. And most importantly you cannot do other things(say for studing other courses) if you do CA... Why??.. Because the course is built in such a way.. Remember ultimately it will be you skill which will matter later in your life but also remember that you require a qualification to enter such atmosphere, and if a qualification takes so much time when will you develop your skill...

Conclusion-- I know all the above 3 points are against doing CA course. But all these 3points would vanish once you think that this is the only thing you want to do in life and will give you highest utils(satisfaction) 😁.Ca is not the only way of success, check the backgrounds of CEOs of most companies you'll hardly find a CA(very few).. I hope now you'll be able to make a clear decision

Note : I had the same experience as you... Even I got 90+ in accounts so I know you pain...
