I have a client who has reconstituted a partnership firm after the death of a partner under a new name. What is the procedure with the PAN Number. Should we apply for a new PAN number? (OR) is it sufficient to let them know the change in constitution and request the name change on the particular PAN Number?
PAN number once issued is permanent. partners may change, firm's name may change but the PAN number, TIN, TAN, Bank A/cs etc. remain the same.

Just intimate about the new reconstituted firm and the new name in Form No. 49B and that would be sufficient
