One of my brother had applied for a new PAN Card on 24-12-2012 and till date he had not received the same, but his name is appearing on the on the income tax website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in on tracking his PAN status.
How should he deal with it?

pls send mail asking for status update to tininfo @ nsdl.co.in. alternatively you can track the status online also
first of all tell me that hv u got PAN or not? you should contact PAN service unit and they will definitely solve it and tell u d actual prblm heppening with ur application.
It may be possible that any descripancy found in ur application form. they will tell u d problem and do the rectfication.
Dear tribhuvan ji, correction in PAN cn not be applied without PAN card. It is mandatory to enclose copy of PAN card or covering letter of PAN with form 49AA
CA SURESH CHANDRA JI if they apply for new pan then how is it possible to get the same pan.it will be better to first check the status at nsdl wheather it is undelivered or something else. Then apply for correction then he will get the same pan .
